The 5 main characters in the breakfast club are weird in their own ways.
Allison Reynolds: Is the "Basket case"
Brian Johnson: Is the "Brain"
Claire Standish: Is the "Princess"
John Bender: Is the "Criminal"
Andrew Clark: is the "Athlete"
Each one of these characters fall under different stereotypical group.
We all categorise or pigeonhole people according to their looks and how they act.

- Allison is very much judged by the way she looks and acts she is definitely labeled as weird on the exterior. But when you get to know her she doesn't seem as odd.
- Brian looks and acts like a geek. He is judged by his physical appearance and the manner in which he acts. Brian probably feels down on the inside as he suffers pressure from his parents to exceed in schooling.
- Claire doesn't seem weird on the outside but on the inside she has a lot of insecurities just like anyone else.
- John does seem different on the surface, but the reason he looks and acts as he does is because of his family. In the film it shows Johns scar from his father burning hm with a cigar.
- Andrew is similar to Claire in the way that he doesn't seem odd on the outside. However on the inside he falls under a heap of pressure from his father pressuring him in to winning in every sporting event. Since his father acts in this way it gives Andrew a load of anger towards him.
