Every one has problems but half of those problems are solved by standing up for yourself. If everyone stood up for themselves there would be no such thing as bullying or depression. In the film everyone has problems that would not have even existed if they had stood up for themselves and what they believe in. If Andrew and Brian stood up to their parents, they would not have had to withstand the large amounts of pressure their parents put on them to succeed in sport and studies respectively. As for Claire, if she stood up to her friends then she would be able to escape her popular girl stereotype and be friends with however she liked. The film, teaches us that standing up for yourself has many benefits. Furthermore, it also shows us that cowering away can do us no good.
